Gen 7 Audio System Problem

Hi guys I'm new to the forum, hope you are all well!

Recently purchased an 03 TSport which has the original head unit with it, all has been fine with the audio system until last Saturday when I went to an Audio Fitter place to have a 3.5mm Auxiliary cable fitted behind the head unit and fed out through the compartment above. Since having this done, I noticed about an hour later the sound with radio and the cd(aux) mode will gradually get quieter and quieter until eventually it gets distorted even after turning up the volume to the top. Also the digital aircon scroll wheel on the right hand side seems to adjust the distorted volume when turned on also which is strange. I didn't think much of it and thought it would just sort itself out, which it did when I restarted the ignition, until today where it will do the exact same thing again after starting up the ignition, the car stereo sound will be ok for about 5 seconds and then gradually fade out and get distorted. I will try and post a video of what's happening so you can see.

In the meantime is anyone familiar with this fault, is it likely to be the headunit/speakers or the auxiliary cable I had fitted on the saturday not been fitted/wired properly? Please help!!

Hey man thanks for this, I've gone back to the audio fitter place and got them to do this as it was a connects 2 adapter installed. Hopefully it would have done the trick.
