Lc 200 2010 100K Service Fuel Economy Worse After Service

Hi All,

Yes my first post to this forum.

I recently had my LC 200 100k service which is a pretty big service apparently.

The fuel TTD injectors were serviced as part of this service.

My query:

After the service my fuel economy went from around 12 l/100km to 13.9 l/100km

I spoke to the Toyota service department who said that because the fuel lines were removed to clean the injectors the computer needed time to reset itself.

OK sounds sort of reasonable given I know nothing about these things.

So I filled the tank up $200 bucks worth and let the computer do it's thing.

End of the tank I was sitting at 13.9 and only got 800 k rather than the 1000 k I can get out of the 138l tank.

Next tank full and lots of highway driving I'm sitting at 12.7 finally it's moving.

QUESTION:

Do you really need to let the computer re calibrate with a tank or 2 of fuel??? Sounds a bit lame given how smart the LC is with all that computer power on board.

What do you all think.

Ok so my fuel consumption has returned to normal without any intervention, it took a few tank fills of fuel to get it back.
