on another note - her friend bought a new 86 and has spent most of her time trying to get into the car as the fob / car keeps failing.

you had any problems?

I've just come from a gt86 to an iq. My key fob was fine in both cars. Toyota do a rear roof spoiler and lower skirt.

Superb fun, great handling but after 2 years got tired of niggle faults and paranoia about it getting scratched and marked.

Ref key fob issues. Its smart meter monitoring data radiating over power lines in the near vaccinate swamps key fob frequency 433.192mhz. No cure up to half hour wait for data transmission to stop

I'm getting parrot bluetooth fitted to my IQ2 tomorrow as I couldn't find an auto one with sat nav at a sensible price. Will report back tomorrow.

Toyota/Scion stopped offering the Toyota unit in new iQs with the advent of the middle of the 2012 model year. All that was offered was the horrid Bespoke systems, which we tried for a month and then tore it out and sold it to a willing guy up in Dallas.

We tried to buy the Toyota unit that was formerly offered (as a part), but our dealer would not sell one to us. Had to go to a second dealer and order it as a part, then had it put in by a Car Toys franchise. Works like a charm, bluetooth and all.

Just why Toyota dropped the good nav unit is a mystery. I'm glad that it was a drop in fit, however.
