Just Brought My First Yaris With A Small Problem

Just brought my first Yaris and yes i'm well impressed with it.

Its T Spirit 1.4D on a 06 plate

The problem I've got is I can't seem to get the lights on the inside of the car to work properly .

They work if I put them on manually but not off the door switch.

The on/off switch has 3 positions left / middle / right

Light comes on when switch is in the left or right setting (off on the middle setting ) but doesn't go off when the door is closed.

Also the lights on the heater setting display doesn't work , which is going to be a pain come those dark winter days.

Are these just quick fixes

Dave

Are you waiting long enough? The interior light doesn't go out immediately in 'door' mode - it waits for the earlier of when you turn the ignition on or after a longish delay.

Just not used to the modern cars :-)

Just the back light on the heater control to sort now.

Just had a look at ours. Turning the sidelights on the only dash lights that illuminate are the little indicator in the instrument pod, the three heater control backlights and the backlight in the headlamp adjuster near the door. I didn't have the key on me but I think the rest must come on with the radio or ignition.

So first check if that headlamp adjuster lights up. If not it would suggest a fault in a more central place than the controls themselves (fuse perhaps).
