I should add that i am totally too old to understsand the complexities of modern tech, things so keep it simple PLEASE... MANY THANKS..

What make and model phone?

Try unpairing and re-pairing it as a first step.

Of and if its an ace work collegue had one - said it was connected to the network at work but would not be connected till he shut it down and rebooted - been back and they say there is no issue... change your phone to a better one might be a better idea

Can I add to Alan's reply.

Unpair the phone as Alan suggested, reboot the phone then pair the phone. The Galaxy Ace is a 3 year old phone that supports bluetooth v2.1. It should work fine but things have moved on. Change the phone! John already said this. See if Samsung firmware can be updated. Sometimes this can fix any issues.

If a friends mobile works, you will have an idea which route to choose.
