Hi there, just gettin sum info on a new amp!!! Here is a description of a sony xplod one:

1000watts Max, 165 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms, 200 watts x 2 at 2 ohms, 400 watts x 1 bridged output at 4 ohms, stereo or bridged mono output, 4-ohm stable in bridged mode, Tri-Way capable, requires 4-gauge power and ground leads, MOSFET power supply and output stages, 50-300 Hz low-pass filter, 12 dB/octave, preamp- and speaker-level inputs, gold-plated connectors, variable bass boost (0-10 dB) centered at 40 Hz, 15-3/16"W x 2-1/4"H x 10-1/4"D.

I need an RMS of around 250-300. Im only powering a sub which is 300rms. Will this amp be suitable? I have no idea of this stuff, lol!!

itll run off one channel ok but be a bit laboured

i would bridge the two channels and run it like that as the amp would then be kicking 400rms and youll fry the sub after time
