Dvd Player Not Working

The dvd player in my corrolla verso 06 has stopped working completely. Ive tried the power switch on the dvd player and on the monitors but there's nothing. I'm hoping it's just a fuse but I've no idea where they are. Can anyone help?

Your manual should show you the fusebox locations. There are fuse boxes under the bonnet and inside the car. The one inside the car will be a pain to get to, it'll either be under a little cover under the dashboard or behind the glovebox. The fusebox lids will have a legend printed on the inside which tells you what each fuse protects.

Thanks for the responses. Still can't find the fuses. From the manual you posted it looks like the fuses are separate to the main fuse boxes. When I checked the two fuse boxes under the bonnet there was nothing that looked like the right fuse. Does anyone know where the fuse for the dvd player is and how it's described. Is it in one of the cars fuse boxes or isit somewhere else in the car?

There are in-line fuses see picture 16 or 18 item 1.9 on the installation manual

I took the glove box out and found the two inline fuses. I think they're the right ones as they both looked like 3Amp fuses. Trouble is that they both look fine. Should I replace them anyway? Any otger ideas why there's no power to the dvd player?

Fixed it! Replaced the fuses and got power back. Thanks for your help as this would have cost me a lot more than the £2 for the fuses if I had gone to a garage.

Great news :)

Moral of that story is; always test fuses with a multimeter (or by changing them for known good ones) if there are problems. It's not always easy to tell if one has blown.

Hi there,

sorry to add to this post but i have a related problem with my 2007 Verso DVD player (under drivers seat). It all seems to work as it should, screens, remote etc but it wont read DVDs. I put one in and it says reading but then does nothing. The screens remain on the screen saver and it does nothing. It wont even eject the disc unless I turn the system off then on again and press eject immediately. I'm hoping this might be a simple fix? Anyone got any ideas or a copy of the instruction manual?

Many thanks in advance :)

Hi Chopper, I suspect your dvd laser is worn out. That's the sort of symptom for a worn laser. Before you had this problem, did it experienced any skipping?

As a matter of interest could you try and play a normal cd music disc?
