Hi everyone,

A couple of days ago a fuel filter warning light came up on my dashboard ('07 Auris 2.2) accompanied by a check Battery one.

They came from nowhere, during parking into my garage. Has anyone experienced something like that?

yes, both lights came on when my alternator became faulty. Accompanied by a whine from the alternator itself.

Alternator replaced under Toyota extended warranty.

Thanks for your reply, Phil. I hear some whining too from that part of the engine compartment... :(

And I have no extended warranty. I'm afraid it's gonna cost a lot.

Btw, was your fuel filter really at a critical water level, or was it just a side effect of the dying alternator?

side effect I believe - i never questioned it and toyota never mentioned it.

i hope you get it sorted!

Hi, it costed me for a corolla £40 part and £20 labour, i think Auris has similar prices.

Here in Austria labor will cost a lot. The cheapest alternator I found online is about 230 Euros. But I'm not sure if the old could be

repaired or a complete replacement is necessary. And this comes two weeks before a long road trip... :S

I had the same combination of warning lights few weeks ago. It also appeared out of nowhere. The generator was repaired and problem disappeared.

I found a used one, with warranty in good condition for a really good price.

But the part number differs.

It's 27060-0G011, instead of 27060-0R011 which is from the parts reference.

But in cross-ref my model shows up for the first number as well.

I got a little confused. Anyone?

So found something during researching. The 0G011 for cars built after 2009. But I'm still not sure.

Would it work with my 2007? It basically looks the same, and their specs match perfectly (100A both).

Yeehaw! Got it fixed! :) The exchanged alternator from a later Avensis works perfectly. And the fuel filter light is gone too.

Congratulations! Have you identified a correct part number for the alternator?

Yes. The broken one taken off was 27060-0R011. The replacement alternator´s code is 27060-0G011. It´s a perfect substitute, probably a developed version of the original from later models. Taking that thing out was the biggest issue, since there isn´t much room work in the engine compartment.
