My 58 plate has failed its MOT due to the o/s rear parking brake not working. Is this an adjuster or a problem with the shoes?

Not working, or not working adequately?

If not working then could be the cable, if not working adequately then try adjusting the shoes.

Thanks for that. It's working at 13% while the other side would hold a freight train.

Probably adjustment of the shoes then.

  • 2 weeks later...

I had the cable on one side snag up with dirt on my last car a 58 plate, my mechanic had me sit in the car pulling the hand brake up & down while he sprayed it with lube & pulling it till it freed. Worked a treat.
