2010 Verso Air Con - Help Please

Hi all I am new to this forum and this is my first post. I have a 2010 verso 2.0D4D. I have had it confirmed that I have a small leak in the air con condenser. Toyota want £525 to replace it which I really cannot afford. A local air con company have a sealant that you can put into the system that has very good write ups, however as the sealant reacts to moisture in the system to seal the leak it is recommended that the filter/dryer is changed at the same time to stop it from becoming clogged (due to the nature of the filter it holds moisture that the sealer would react to). My problem is that I cannot for the life of me find where the filter/dryer is located. Can anyone please help? Thanks in advance

The condenser dryer on your car is integral to the condenser and is not a separately serviceable part, catch 22 in your case.

I assume it's not covered under the 5 year warranty so try a non Toyota garage for a new condenser. They're basically just a radiator so should only cost about £100 plus fitting. I've not changed one on a Verso but my guess would be a couple/few hours labour, so the bill should be about half the Toyota price.

edit... and personally I wouldn't put any sealant anywhere near the system

Thanks very much for the help, will try and find somewhere local to quote me a replacement condenser. Just out of curiosity I wonder what the life expectancy of the filter/dryer is. Seeing as it's a non serviceable part it means you would have to throw away the condenser when the filter needs changing.

There will be a pollen filter in the car somewhere, possibly behind the glovebox. You're supposed to renew it every 2 years.
