Ticking Over But Not Starting

Hey there I'm kind of new to the forums!!

I have a 53 plate Corolla 1.4 vvti and recently when I've tried to turn it on it's been ticking over Asif it wants to start but not igniting for lack of a better word. I have to turn its like 5-6 times before the engine turns on!

I want to get abit more hands on in fixing my car so if anyone could give me any advice it would be much appreciated!

The batteries Farley new and the fuels is all good. It could be the spark plugs or injectors. What's the proper way to test that or do I just have to take it in?
