Aygo 2014 - Infotainment Screensize/resolution

Hi All,

I just traded my old Auris in for a brand new Aygo (xcite) and am really chuffed with it so far. It might not be as powerful as the Auris but its definially more fun to drive. I learned to drive in a 2001 Yaris, and it feels much more like that.

Anyway, one of the things you can do with the Infotainment System (I want to say xnav, but thats more specifically the navigation system) is set an image on boot (so when you turn the ignition, you can choose what picture is displayed). So the manual is pretty thorough on what you have to do to change the image

(Create a folder on a FAT32 USB called StartupImage, copy a jpg or jpeg into that folder (that is under 5MB's), and then plug into the car and go Settings -> Startup Image -> Transfer, then select your image. Easy)

However the manual fails to note anywhere what the screen-resolution or even the aspect ratio of the system, so all my images have ugly black bars or are blurry because it stretches or scales them accordingly. I was wondering if anyone here knew what the correct image size should be (in pixels).

So far I've tried, 960x640 (Vertical bars) 3:2, 1024x600 (Horizontal bars) 16:10 , 1440x900 (Horizontal Bars) 8:5 [but the closest so far], 1280x720 (Horizontal Bars) 16:9

and I'm about to try 1136×640 [71:40] which is the resolution of a iPhone 5 [because Apple products seem to get prominent coverage in the Aygo's litrature and the MirrorLink capability I'm assuming that the resolution might match an iPhone]

But if anyone knows what it is off hand that would be great!

Best Regards

Thanks for this info, I have an iPhone 4 and have got thr mirror link cable and the app. I will try uploading a start up image and see what happens. Also I found the x-nav option a waste of money, basic navigation, does not speak out road names etc...

I've been thinking about changing the startup image on mine, but haven't attempted it, because of not knowing the screen res.

Ok I just uploaded an image ant it looks great. I am not sure of the exact aspect ratio but there's only slight vertical borders noticeable.
