Fuel Pump On 2002 Yaris

Hi,

Just hoping to get some advice if possible from members. My Yaris has been diagnosed with having a fuel pump problem, so I have bought a replacement pump. The mechanic who checked the car originally said that they are quite simple to fit (although he would probably say that).

I just wanted to know if there are any guides out there on how to fit the new pump myself? I have a basic knowledge of cars but with how old my car is now I just don't want to hemorrhage money into having a professional fit it for me if it's achievable myself. I'm not overly scared about playing around with most things, but if someone could provide a simple (as possible) guide on how to fit the new fuel pump, I would be very grateful.

Thanks very much in advance

Lewis

Hi and Welcome

Fuel pump and fuel gauge sender are mounted on top of fuel tank.. Access under rear seat (Cover)

Summary from Haynes

Disconnect Battery

Remove pump wiring plug

Remove retaining clip

Disconnect fuel pipe

Remove evaporative emissions connector

Unscrew bolts to mounting plate.

Lift out pump.

And so on with lots of pictures.

I suggest you buy a Haynes Manual..
