Hi to all my fellow toyota corolla owners.

I want to run a diagnostic tool on the car to determine what is causing the poor mpg.

Currently calculated at 22 mpg.

Need an ODBII diagnostic tool that is compatible with the car.

Thank you

Any generic obd2 compliant scanner will allow you to diagnose a fault. They are available in Halfords.

Is your car displaying an engine management light. I use a launch system which allows me to read live data etc...

Are you requiring live data access?

As regards the fuel consumption, it could be anything. Is you engine consuming oil? Is your fuel good?

Sometimes a new set of plugs and air filter help, or just a good service.

Pre cat oxygen sensor adjusts fueling etc..

I would treat to a service plugs, air filter, oil and filter, and see if you get any gains.

unless you have a engine light then I would get that read.

I ran a diagnostic using a bluetooth odb2 connector and the torque app on, no fault codes.

im thinking of getting all original parts from toyota.

sparks 13.32

oil filter 7.99

air filter 13.98

all plus vat

Castrol gtx semi synthetic oil

Get the online tool Torque and set it all up with car engine size, weight etc and use it to measure your MPG over a couple of days. It will give you an idea if the 22mpg is a true reading or not. Does sound as if something wrong at that level. Do a service as suggested. Any smell of petrol around?
