Yaris 02 Vvti Cutting Out, Rough Idle, Air Noise.

Hi,

I have a problem with my daughters yaris, it has cut out several times when driving, revs rise on there own from time to time, it is a bit rough running on idle, does not pick up instantly,

The only thing that can be heard is a noise from below the air filter, as i blip the throttle gently it hesitates slightly and sounds like a mini dump valve, the revs die back then settle though a little rough.

After it cuts out it starts again next turn of the key,

I don't know if all the probs are from same source,

As yet i have not done anything,

I suggest the throttle may be sticking. Remove the air filter, spray the throttle an d valve with carb cleaner.. and clean gently with a toothbrush.
