Aygo (2014 Mark 2) Steering Wheel Lock

I've had my Aygo x-clusiv nearly a week now and cannot locate the steering lock after you have removed the ignition key.

My iQ3 had an electronic steering lock that would activate when you stopped the engine and opened one of the doors, it was then just a slight pull down to the right with the wheel at dead centre and you could feel it lock into place.

Despite the Aygo's ignition barrel having the word 'lock' on it, I cannot find the lock position.

Does the Aygo actually have a steering wheel lock or not, as I can't find any mention of it in the manual?

Seems to - have a look at pages 151 to 158 of the owners manual.

Mine seems to. After extracting the key I just wiggle the steering wheel and it engages. If yours does not then call into the Toyota dealer with it and have it checked out.

My manual ends at page 126.

Edit: Just noticed that all I've got is the User Guide and not an Owner's Manual. I thought it was too thin compared to my iQ's manual.

Remove the key, you probably have to turn the steering wheel about a quarter turn before it locks

Thanks for the suggestions.

I've downloaded the digital manual and that doesn't really give much away and I'll try turning the wheel more.

Does the Gen 2 Aygo have an electronic steering wheel lock or not? The steering coloumn doesn't make the sound of a lock engaging like my iQ did when you opened a door after turning off the engine.

From reading the manual, it sounds to me like models with smart entry do, but models with dumb entry have a standard steering lock.

It doesn't matter where I turn the wheel to, it will not lock and there is no resistance when turning the key from the lock position to on.

It looks like it's back to the dealer with this one.

I've finally found the steering lock!

When I park I need to turn the wheel 90 degrees to the right from dead centre. I will put the wheel in this position whilst the engine is running.

I tried every position and missed that spot. It doesn't make a noise or give any feedback.
