I have an Avensis BE 2014. The Sat Nav has missing details. i.e my House number and most of the others in my road. Who do you advise to update their data base.

Wasn't aware that car manufacturers offered the facility for customers to notify them or their mapping providers of mapping errors. For example, TomTom have this facility for customers to update maps, but as far as I'm aware Garmin don't (we currently have sat navs from both manufacturers).

But if a car manufacturer fits a satnav and also charges an arm and a leg for updates then it's that vehicle manufacturer's obligation to keep the maps correctly updated. Plus being responsible for correcting map errors on the software they sell.

Yes, TomTom do have customer map correction but that is for their stand alone units.

As the o.p.'s car is a fairly late model then the satnav information should be up to date from the factory or supplying dealer.

The sat nav information is as up to date as the latest update.

I would suspect that even the latest update is not error free - and it seems the exclusion of the OP's house and other houses tin that street is an error.

The OP was asking whether there is the facility for customers to notify any errors, and , as I pointed out, I am not aware that any car manufacturer offers the facility for customers to notify either them or the mapping providers of errors.

The TomTom map correction facility IS for their stand alone units, and I didn't imply otherwise.

The data is supplied to Toyota by another company (exactly which depends upon the hardware). All that Toyota would do with any reported error is pass it back up the chain to their supplier.

They do seem pretty slow at map updates though - the latest map update for Touch & Go (not T 2 &G) took ~10 months for Toyota UK to issue from the data being supplied to them, some 5 months after it showed up in other European countries (they claim the delay due to "additional testing" ). The data is now over a year old.

Supposed to be 2 updates a year but it appears that rather than that meaning an update every 6 months as one might think Toyota UK are happy if they get 2 out within 365 days of each other ... :death:
