Hi The issue i am having with my avensis is that when your going up a hill and you change to lower

gear or stop to giveway the pressure drops and feels its going to cut out plus engine light comes on.

just less then week ago we had a new EGR put in. Called out the AA who said it bring up

P1251 Step Motor for Turbocharger Control Circuit Intermittent code. Also he checked it out for any

puffs of black smoke. Anyone know what the problem could be? Thanks

Hi.

Does your car have a DPF valve, i believe it has, might be worth taking it off and clean it out with carburettor cleaner or similar, even if this isn't the reason for your problem it's a good thing to service, they have been known to clog up which in turn causes problems you are describing.

I doubt that car has a dpf. search P1251 in the search bar above, it relates to the turbo.. if its intermittent its most likely a sensor which may need cleaning/replacing.
