Hi all. TRC and VSC lights came on yesterday and limp mode. AA sent Millbrooks of Swansea to it last night who said they could try a forced a regen today. They tried with their diagnostic gear today and can read all codes. DPF is 67% blocked but they can't force a regen. Computer telling them only dealer diagnostic can do the job. Is that right?

Do you know of anyone in Cardiff area who is a toyota specialist with the right gear.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Just having it recovered from Swansea to Cardiff.

Phil

To make the car carry out a forced regeneration is not just a case of plugging in a computer and pressing a button, a series of tests, pre checks and amendments have to made to the car before a regen can be forced. This info is not likely to be available outside of a Toyota dealer.

Hi,

Just for the Toyota Forum community's info, what DTC codes came up at the diagnostics?

Thank you. Didn't realise that Devon Aygo.

Just had it back from Toyota. They couldn't force a regen. Dpf needs replacing. £1800

The code is P2002.

Thinking of getting the dpf internal filter removed and engine remapped by Avon tuning in Bristol.

I know the MOT requires a dpf to be in place, but it's only a visual inspection so the internal removal should be ok and not a failure?

afaik no-one has managed to crack the Denso ECU directso if Avon can it will be a first ...

Interesting http://avontuning.co.uk/2013/03/toyota-2-2-d4d-dpf-removal-delete/

I wonder if they are doing it by fitting a piggyback chip box (yup, actually reading the page  it does looks so)? This constitutes a modification & should be notified to your insurance company.
