Hiace Advise

I've been looking for vehicle to use as a work van and at weekends go away to camp.

The Hiace looks like a good compromise but it's which one to go for I believe the older ones around 2002 ish I have been told are better than later versions. Also some diesels have cam chains while some have belts how do I know what to look for.

Is there anyone out there an expert.

My budget is around 5000 but could if pushed go up to 7000
