2C-T Engine Valve Shim Question.

Hello to all.

I am currently rebuilding a new head to go in an Import Master Ace Surf. Its the 2CT engine in it and I've got to the point where I have fitted the cam to the head but I need to check the tappet/camshaft clearence. It has shims on the tappets. I have only rebuilt engines with hydraulic lifters, so this process is a grey area that I would like some advice on please?

Can anyone tell me the specific gap/clearance on exhaust and inlet as my autodata doesn't go back that far.

Also I'm not sure of the procedure on checking and setting these gaps. I know that I will need shims if the gaps are wrong and I have feeler gauges ect and I think I probably already have an idea on how to do it, but if someone could please offer a practical explanation on the process it would really save me making any errors.

Thanks in advance

Pete.
