Has Anybody Had Their Iq's 12V Battery Changed?

Hi,

Has anyone had their IQ's Battery changed?

If so, would be interested in knowing:

1. Did you have it fitted by Toyota (Toyota Genuine Battery) or install an aftermarket Battery.

2. What is the make & model of the Battery that Toyota installed or you bought from the market, as the case may be?

3. Which iQ (2,3 and manual/CVT)?

The battery currently installed in our 60 plate iQ2 CVT is a Panasonic 46B24R(S)-MF and I am told (by Toyota) that it is a 45Ah / 310A battery.

Thanks in advance.

I had mine change by Toyota under warranty, iQ3 was about 3 years old at the time. We'd left the car parked at Leeds airport for a week and came back to a completly drained Battery. Nothing had been left on that shouldn't be. A few weeks later it drained again, so took it in for them to test, one of the cells was completely knackard. They fitted the new Battery and did a drain test to make sure their wasn't an electrical fault causing excessive drain, there wasn't so they did it under warranty.

Since then I have always over ridden the Stop Start as I don't see how that can do the Battery any good, and Toyota even removed the Stop Start from the later iQ3 models, and the new battery is supposed to be even beefier that the original one fitted.

My Battery died just after Christmas, its a Bosch on a 2010 IQ2, I would have expected it to have lasted longer. Took it off and popped it on the reconditioner, it took 3 hits and then charged up, since refitting, its been fine, I guess they all need a recon once in a while. The most difficult part of it was re tuning the radio, took me 45 minutes at least.
