Tns5×× Sat Nav Query

Hi all,

I've just been joined tonight and have a couple of questions about the '07 Auris 1.6 T-Spirit 5dr that I'm picking up for my wife on Sunday.

Its the one on here: http://markkeenancarsales.co.uk/

1a. Are the Toyota TNS 5XX, TNS7XX head units any good?

1b. Can I easily retro fit a genuine Toyota TNS sat nav?... I realise that I'll have to fit a GPS Antenna.

2. Are the TNS head units also some sort of media / entertainment system?

3. Do the TNS head units have bluetooth built in?

4. It only has steering wheel controls on the left hand side of the steering wheel; is there another set of controls for the right hand side that would mean having to change the whole wheel and / or have to start trying to wire it in?

5. Am I better off putting in a third party head unit and GPS antenna?

6. Is there a reverse camera for the Auris that looks like it is factory fitted?

7. Am I crazy for wanting to try and do any of these things?

Cheers in advance, sorry if I've missed a similar thread.

I should mention; I am not the owner of the site that I posted a link to. I'm just buying the car off him for my wife.

Think the drawback with the Toyota sat nav systems, as with other manufacturers, is the cost of the sat nav updates.

I'm pretty sure that bluetooth was an option on the Auris of this age.

As far as I'm aware the TNS systems don't offer a media/entertainment experience like the later Toyota Touch systems. They can play WMA's and MP3's if these are copied onto a CD-R or similar. Toyota also offered an iPod connection kit as an option for use with these head units.

If you wish to add things like bluetooth and media connectivity (ie usb and/or iPod connections), but don't wish to replace the current audio equipment, you could consider something like Xcarlink -
