Lift Problem

Bought a 55 plate toyota celica t sport 190bhp the car drives fine and runs like it should... until I take it to 6200rpm and allow the lift to kick in, sometimes it lifts fine and screams until 8,000 then the limiter kicks in but sometimes the car jerks and just DOES not feel right and healthy and when it does it the engine management light comes on and also VSC and TRC off comes on and when that comes on it doesn't lift and limits the engine to 7,000rpm heard it could possibly be the lift bolts, has anyone ever had this problem.

I don't have "lift" in my 140 of course but I understand that new lift bolts are cheap to buy.!...it might be worth giving the VVTI filter a clean..?....the condition of that can influence lift.!!
