Hi All, i wonder if anyone can shed some light on this for me please.

i only average 1-2000 miles each year as i work abroad a lot. so my Aygo will sit for several weeks without being driven. :( i am very worried that the car will not start when i come to use it.

1/ what is Battery drain likley to be?

2/ is it possible dis-arm any power hungry alarm systems (not sure what is fitted)

3/ does this car have an OBD11 port? and where is it?

any other helpfull tips would be appreciated too. on previous cars i fitted a solar trickle charger to OBD11 port, hence why i ask.

many thanks in advance.

I don't think you will have too much of an issue if you continue to use a solar trickle charger.

You have a couple of options , the solar one as you suggest, seem to remember only the AA solar panel comes with a OBDII connector, sorry to say very limited use in the UK with little sunlight.

The better option is what camper van owners use , it's a trickle charger........see..

Down side to this it needs to be plugged into the mains, not sure if your car is garaged or close to you home. Flip side if your Battery goes flat and can't be recharged , I'm sure Toyota would have to replace it under warrenty :)

ok thanks for the swift replies. i had a mazda before and even with the trickle charge it struggled if i didnt disable the interior alarm sensors (on the key fob).

i take it the Aygo doesnt have internal sensors?

As far as I'm aware the Aygo just has an immobiliser rather than an alarm with interior protection.

other option is to lease it to someone who will drive it around and keep it ticking over?
