Got Bored Today

im off on holiday this week and finally went to the scrapyards for a couple of bits of trim I needed

replaced the centre console with an armrest type that also has a rear accessory socket for the kids to plug in their chargers - also whilst console was off I bought a spare accessory socket and soldered off back of original lighter socket to plug my dash cam charger into it all neat and tidy hidden away

got a missing drivers seat handle for reaise / lower of seat that was missing since I bought the car.

got a drivers door pin switch as mine failed and was a pain not having interior light operating with the door, also the failed switch messed up the alarm priority and gave false alarms or tried to relock doors after 30 secs - but its working as it should now

got a glove box type centre dash console to replace the useless satnav / trip computer - also removed the dvd unit from under passengers seat.

tried to get silver dash trim strip to change mine from black but didn't look right without the door card parts so worked out too dear for door cards and I scrubbed that idea.

tried to get a new gearknob and all 5 speed ones were all gone

so went to Toyota to try get a chrome insert for my gearknob - they don't list it as a separate part and the whole knob is £80.80 probably plus vat - maybey just need to get a nice aftermarket one

ill get some pictures tomorrow

just keep a eye out for the whole gear knob at the breakers as the leather wears out too instead of just replacing the chrome bit.

it unscrews off and screws back on.

interior trim isnt avensis's strong point.

I think the top cubby hole is a good idea but I would miss my trip computer/range etc, the facelift has this info the speedo.

I changed my interior lights to LED's as they are much brighter standard boot is useless, also have changed the headlight bulbs to brighter bulbs osram's are good,

205/50 17 I think or is it 215/50/17

too big anyway compared to some ive seen on this type of wheel

apologies for state of wheels they have gone the same way my is200 went and are in dire need of a refurb

silver or gunmetal? havnt decided

following pics are of car defo lowered

subtle lower but stiffer springs mean less roll to me and that's the big difference

back wheel

front wheel

with a black body I think that I would stay with silver wheels. you can get it a brighter, more chrome silver than oem finish though (or if you want the rat look go really dark metallic grey or matt black).

Stick with silver IMO, 215 45 17 is the original size for them wheels, since I have bought the car its always had 225 45 17 so I have left them. its the most common tyre size 17 so plenty of range available and cheaper than other 17" tyres.

going to get 4 delivered and give the wheel refurb bloke them to fit after wheels are spruced up.

obviously the 225/45 are a bit wider and higher

I like the wheels that come on the T180 but we cannot put them on as they have a different fitment something like 114.3,

as shown below.

Used_Toyota_Avensis_2_2_D_4d_T_Spirit_Ha

these are of a TR model you can get these aslong as of petrol or 2.0

toyota-tr-014.jpg

I still like the 17" Juno wheels

Yes I will get you a picture for you(one day when I have gave her a wash), 225 45 17 will be 10mm wider than 215. and 45 is a slightly lower profile than 55.

this link will explain tyre sizes if needed mate.

cheers

not much in it I guess or is there

2.15x40=86

2.15x45=96.75

2.15x50=107.5

21.5mm difference in height of tyre looks double as the top and bottom of tyre are apart by 43mm

2.25x40=90

2.25x45=101.25

2.25x50=112.5

etc

need to get down and read the sizes on the red avensis with same wheels I see running about my area.

look a lot more sharp

maybey hes got 40s ?

maybey its horrible to drive?
