Rear Bumper With Parking Sensors

If I was to buy a used rear bumper with parking sensors can I fit it to my car and expect it to work? Just to clarify my present car does not have parking sensors. I know some manufactures install all the wiring looms and kit for these things so the options can be installed later at the dealerships. I'm looking at buying a bumper from a breakers yard and have found one with the sensors. So how easy would it be to get them working on my 2008 car.

Thanks for any advice.

I doubt the loom would be in place tbh I know it's a one loom fits all thing for optional extras but I think parking sensors was a different system .... Been a few years since I bought mine so I could be wrong

Rear parking sensors for the first generation were, AFAIK, a dealer fit option, including the wiring and isolation switch. I've had them fitted on both the Auris I've had.

When I was fitting my rear Speakers I could see the control module for the rear parking sensors fitted to my first gen. It is indeed just a control box that is added to the car (almost like an aftermarket addon!). And as mentioned above it just needs the switch to tell it when the car is in reverse and power.

Thanks guys. Seems its not quite as simple as I first thought. I'd have to butcher the donor car to get all the parts off it.
