Rev Counters?

My old toyota has no rev counter. Just wondering whether any other classic owner has bothered to install a third party one and if so, which brand and how did the install go?

The manual states my engine gives 65bhp @6000rpm and idle is around 750rpm.

When driving my other cars I rarely go above 4000rpm and usually keep the rev counter around 1500-2500rpm, motorway cruising is 3000rpm ish.

So if I were to get a rev counter is there a method in calibration?

Maybe this is over kill though as the manual gives me a guide on when to shift and I've been keeping to that. Probably best to save the money and buy more rust preventatives :)
