I Have Fault Code Po 380

My 2004 D4D 115hp has had the engine light on for over 3 years. It runs fine and has good fuel economy. Mileage approx 80K. I purchased a reader to see why the engine light is permanently on and it says PO 380. Seems it's to do with the glow plug system. At minus zero temperatures it has always been a bit slow and rattly on start up and is no different now. Should I mess with the glow plugs?
