hi can anyone help with 2000 corrola 5 door hatch. initially when driving the car with low beam on they would intermittently go off,now neither low beam or high beam work but high beam flash does. Note this version corrola has seperate low beam and high beam light assembleys at the front of the car.Have checked the multifunction switch in the left of the steering wheel that toggles between parking light and low beam with my meter on the ohms range and there is continuity on the three connections when opperated. When the light switch is set to parking light i can hear a relay click on the board to the right of the axcelorator pedal, when the switch is moved to low beam no clicking relay can be heard either inside the car or under the bonnet where the other set of relays and fuses are located.I have confirmed there is no 12v on the low beam bulbs with my meter set on dc volts. thanks alec. Ps I have confirmed that one of the three wires from the low beam, parking light switch is going to chassis, one has 12v on it which I assume is the earthy end of the parking light relay, and the third wire has no voltage at all which I assume is the tearthy end of the low beam relay, if correct i suspect either the low beam relay coil is open circuit or there Is no voltage getting to the relay coil. The Haynes manual only has a circuit of the single low beam version, mine is the twin low beam with twin high beam.i would like to know which fuse feeds the low beam relay and the location of the relay in the car and which relay it is . Or if anyone has had this fault and has a possible cure as my suspicions may be incorrect, let me know , it is a uk automatic gearbox corolla, thanks alec Have managed to resolve this fault now. I realised that the red head light relay located under the bonnet was not being activated by the low beam switch which I had checked and was ok, so I ran a wire from the earth end of the relay coil to the low beam switch that has a red wire. I realise this is a bit of a bodge but the low and high beams are now working correctly. Alec.
