Passenger Seat Locking Failure

Hi All,

I am looking for some advice on my passenger seat in my 2002 Toyota corolla T sport. I had an MOT today (27/03/2015). It failed due to Passenger seat sliding. The garage cannot remove seats with airbags in them as its against policy. They did try greasing the runners and spraying WD40 on the spring mechanism but it hasn't helped. Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so how did you overcome it?

Many thanx.

Ziggi79.

Not a problem I have had or heard of, but expect it can only be seen fully once the seat is removed, though if its something broken you might find the actual part is only avaiable from Toyota as part of a whole assembly, and expensive, so a repair or scrappers part is the other option.

As for removing the seat, if done to a correct but simple proceedure its perfectly do-able, so suggest you find a more competant garage.

Have a look as some of the 'Broken Seat' posts below this thread.
