Verso-S Audio Usb Player Startup Problem

The unit has 3 play modes: album, playlist and numbers. I insert a USB stick containing various mp3 files from an assortment of performers and albums. No folders, no playlists (whatever they might be), just several mp3 files. Using the menu, with the engine running, I select the "numbers" option, and off I go. The unit advances through the numbers as they play out, and I dodge the enemy traffic. Very good. Then I arrive at my destination, turn off the ignition. A while later, I want to drive somewhere else. I turn on the ignition, and after a wait of several seconds, the audio unit wakes up. After several more seconds, it starts to play the last-played track exactly where it stopped - brilliant - just like my old cassette player. But unfortunately it starts up in "album" mode. So from then, instead of looping through all the mp3 tracks, it plays only those tracks which are part of the album from which that last-played track was derived from. This might be a few tracks, or even just one. This is repeatable, and I have used 4 different sticks, with mp3's written under Windows. My Toyota dealer blamed the USB stick I first used, so I bought a new preformatted Sandisk one, wrote some tracks to it, and - same problem. The same sticks run in "numbers" mode quite merrily in my wife's nice Korean car. I can fumble through the menu and put the unit back in "numbers" mode each time, as long as I remember to start the engine first.

What do I need to do to play a mix of mp3 tracks sequentially on my new Toyota, but such that the sequence survives ignition off then on? Maybe replace the Toyota audio console with a Korean audio console?
