Verso T180 2.2 Poor Mpg, Lacking Power (06 Plate)

Hi folks, recently removed DPF entirely and plugged in an emulator. I've cleaned out the egr valve no end of times and replaced the fuel filter. The problems of poor mpg and sluggish and non-linear acceleration still exist. There's really not much left that we can think of to address this, the question for the forum is; is there anything else that needs looking at?

The MOT regs changed in Feb 2014, and cars can now fail the MOT if originally fitted with a dpf and the dpf has been removed or tampered with.
