Is it worth getting a genuine Toyota replacment filter, or a euro parts type

Would it make much difference

Depending what car you have (your profile shows you don't have a Toyota yet), its down to your choice. There have been issues with some of the Europarts filters for the Avensis - some filters supplied being for LHD.

Some Toyota dealers have eBay shops where you can pick up OE filters a bit cheaper.

Otherwise you can also source filters from sellers like Amazon or eBay .....

Thanks, i have an auris 2011 1.6tr

Dealer wants £21 to replace ,which is cheap enough I suppose ,

Simple enough job ,can get a crossland filter for £9 from local euro parts store

They're cheap enough that I generally get the proper Toyota ones from my good dealer (Not the bad one, they always charge 10% more!) or from Kingo if I'm buying a load of other bits to offset the delivery charges.

Kingo's deffo a good source for discounted Toyota parts, it's just that the delivery charge outweighs the discount if you're only getting a single cheap thing! :lol:

(If you live near there that'd be the ideal scenario tho' ;))

I found a crossland filter didn't quite fit properly.

I fitted mann filters too in my Auris, air filter, cabin filter, even oil filter ; IMO is better than original one (Denso), it's less restrictive.

There does seem to be a better fresher flow from the mann filter tavy did you buy the washable one .... It was a few yrs ago I bought mine and there was a reusable/washable version and also a throw away one

Not washable, just normal ones, they aren't so expensive.

mann codes for Auris are these:

- cabin filter: CU1919 or CUK1919 with activated carbon;

- air filter: C24005.
