Compatible Bike Rack For A Toyota Hiace Campervan

Hi there,

Recently purchased a 1999 Toyota Hiace Campervan, imported from Japan and registered in UK approx 12 months ago. It has what appears to be a bike rack already installed on the tailgate rear door however on closer inspection it is clearly missing key parts. The label on structure reads "TAIL SYSTEM - SYSTEM CARRIER FOR REAR GATE" Intertec. Tried researching this on internet but it doesnt bring up much information to work with. Took campervan to a local caravan servicing sight this evening who suggested he might have a spare part for the rack. He had a look and admitted that he had not seen a rack like the one currently on the van. He suggested purchasing a Fiamma model. I have had a quick look and there are suggestions that the VW T5 Fiamma bike rack might be compatible. Basically any suggestions would be most appreciated. Not sure where to start! Just need a bike rack for 2 bikes. The guy who I took camper to this evening said that the brackets currently in place are really good and the Fiamma would fit....

Thanks.

We fitted a fiamma t5 rack required two holes to be drilled in the top of the rack vertical beers to allow top door hooks to be fitted a inch or so lower as the t5 door is slightly shorter. Very easy, much easier than the online suggestion of cutting the polls halfway down
