Issue Connecting Ps2 To In Car Entertainment System

Hi, I have a 57 plate Corolla Verso T180 with in car entertainment.

The Dvd player has more or less packed up (not wanting to turn on/read discs and when it finally does it hangs after a couple of minutes).

So I thought I would link an old slimline ps2 to the component (red, yellow, white) inputs in the central console. I bought an AC adaptor, connected the ps2 and fired it up so I could hear it was reading the disc. I then turned on the monitors (with ignition of car on) and there was nothing there. Went through av1 and av2 inputs / changed pal to ntsc and there appeared to be no signal as the monitors in the headrest turned themselves off after a couple of seconds?

Any thoughts / what am I doing wrong?
