Back Again After Absence (Three Toyotas Later)

Hello people, I've not been around for a long time, in fact, like most of the people that regular forum dwellers hate, I only tend to appear when I've got problems.

I thought I'd update my profile, and also report that since the T Reg Avensis and then the 2004 Prius which I discussed at length on here a few years back, I've had the pleasure of driving a lot of cars, mainly Toyotas of course.

I had some serious issues with my Prius deciding to stop dead on the motorway, so sadly the time had come for it to go.

Changed it for a 2009 Auris 1.6 vvti, which I had for just over a year, before deciding the time had come (and the mileage more importantly) to change it again.

Next came a 2013 Auris 1.4 diesel, which again served me well for about a year. This year I am mainly saving up for a deposit to get a place of my own, and so decided to look for a bargain. I've just gone full circle and bought a 2002 Avensis Vermont 1.8 vvti for £400 on eBay.

It was like jumping in and driving an old friend, I've had it the best part of a week now, and besides the stereo issues that I've posted in the appropriate part of the forums, I don't think I've enjoyed driving as much in years. I have spent most of the week looking for excuses to drive, rather than excuses for someone else to drive (Which included a 10 miles return trip to Tescos to buy one Parsnip for Sunday Lunch!)

So over 5 years, and 5 Toyotas, I'm near enough back to where I started, and absolutely loving it. The other bonus of driving a £400 car, is that I no longer have to worry where I park or how some of the other idiots park. If the bodywork gets damaged, so be it, I'll get the spray can out again!!

In case its another few years before I return, that's to all the people who've helped me since I've been in the forums.

Dan!
