Bye Bye Prius, Hello...

...Lexus CT200h.

I have to hand the keys to the Prius back in August, and was minded to replace it with an Auris HSD, but the dates don't work for me to order the new one. After much deliberation, I've ordered a CT-200h Luxury instead, which is actually a cheaper car than my fully-spec-ed Prius.

The Prius sold me completely on the idea of a hybrid, and I've considered nothing else. But it'll be nice to have one that's better screwed together and doesn't rattle like a tea tray.

Very nice! I almost went for one myself with the superb Audio system upgrade but the boot was just too small for my Dog. Lovely car though.

yes, a comparison with the Prius would be great, but I am in Stuarts camp if the verdict is toooo favourable

but there is the 3 year warranty, the smaller interior, and the 'looks' that suggest the design was by a commitee

I will post a comparison when I get it (late August).

Things I know I am going to miss from my Prius: reversing camera, radar cruise, the occasionally useful larger boot.

Things I won't: the pretty awful navigation (sticking to smartphones from now on), the embarrassingly cheap sound the doors make when closing, the infamously rattly interior.

Overall, I have enjoyed the Prius ownership experience, save for the spate of breakdowns the 12V Battery issue subjected me to last year. I'd have happily kept it for another year at least if it had been my own rather than a company car.
