Thinking About A Tidy Little Mr2 Roadster

Hello all! First time poster here....Be kind! :fireman:

Today I came dangerously close to buying a MR2 roadster (2000.) It was a beautiful little thing, in great nick for 1200£ (I can probably haggle him down a little)

I went away to think about it, and came here for some advice really! So, the beast has done 88k miles, the roof is in OK condiction, I could probably replace it myself and have a friend who could get hold of one (mint) for around 200£~

But the engine kinda worrys me, alongside me using it to commute daily so I'd accumulate around 300 odd miles a week on A roads. I'm going to view it again and have a little drive around in a few days, what should I look for with the car?

Cheers in advice boys, heard some great things about how the car drives.
