Led's Instead Of Bulbs

I see that LED alternatives are available instead of using conventional filament bulbs. I would like to replace my indicator and stop/tail bulbs with LED's that are legal. Can anyone recommend any and I don't mind paying a bit extra to get these.

My only concern is how much heat is generated by them compared to filament bulbs potentially melting the light unit.

Thanks.

Leds produce far less heat than filaments. The only problem bulb is the stop/ tail. Most are not E marked because there has been problems distinguishing between the brightness of the stop and tail illumination. This can have obvious dire consequences. I searched for ages and gave up in the end. If you find anything safe I would like to know!

All the other bulbs should be fine to swop out. With indicators you will need a special relay or have resistors installed to give the correct flash delay.

Ok thanks for that, I will give it a miss then as I don't want any problems. I will keep a check on the development of them.

hi phil

these bulbs have the load resistors built into them so they are plug and play

i would just double check to see if you have inline pins (clear bulb) or offset pins (yellow bulb) then ask them to supply the correct bulb
