Toyota Service Kits Or Buy Separates?

Hi

Is it better to buy a complete Totoya Service kit from the likes of http://genuineserviceparts.com/ or Ebay or buy separates from the likes of Eurocarparts / Andrew Page etc.

The issue is I have an 09 Auris 1.6vvti and the service kits are come with 5w30 oil even though the manual recommends 0w20. Also the spark plugs seem cheap as part of the Service Kit - whereas looking at £40 for Iridium spark plugs. The car has done 48k miles in 6 years - starts fine so not sure whether it needs the sparks changing.

Also why do they reference the 0w20 as a hybrid oil when my car is a standard petrol engined car? And will 5l be enough or do I need more oil?

According to the schedule in my service book, the sparks plugs are due to be replaced at 60,000 miles - no mention of a time interval, unlike with other entries in the schedule (ie 6 years/60,000 miles).

0W-20 oil isn't specifically a hybrid oil - this oil is Toyota's preferred oil for Optimal Drive petrol engines.

But I have a bog standard vvti so 5w30 should be fine? Also is it recommended to change the sump washer at each oil change?

0w 20 is used in Hybrid and stop start engines such as the 1.33 models. The oil is quite a bit more expensive than 5w 30

Is there an online listing of all the part codes for an engine?

If I have my engine code and VIN then can I enter that into some website and get all the part codes etc which will save me time.

Toyodiy.com is the old parts catalogue so should work for part numbers

My 2010 auris 1.33 stop start was given 5/30 they said the 0/20 was for the hybrid cars?

You need to understand there is no one specific oil that you MUST use. Read the post about grades of oil to use

When I say 0w 20 is for stop start, I mean it is the "preferred" oil for stop start
