Filled the avensis to the brim around 49.7 litres and range said 380 miles? It's a 2.0 d4d avensis 2006.

The 2010 auris 1.33 gives me 420mile range.

The fuel tank capacity is ~60 litres. However, ~9 or 10 litres of that is "reserve" & the range seems to count down to "reserve" & not empty.

The older computers tend to be quite variable & not as accurate as the modern ones. Obviously mpg is going to vary according to where & how you drive.

frankie406 it goes by recent driving so if you had been doing a lot of urban or short driving it would have used that to calculate. Removing the Battery leads will have wiped that & after you had put the leads back on if you were doing more economical driving > extended range display.

  • 1 month later...

I have been driving t27 d4d avensis now for 3 months and think I have a few sender problem. Car reads empty and when I fill up to the brim it only takes 37 to 40 litres.

I've been told removing the Battery terminal will reset the computer. Dies anyone know if this is true?
