Previa Engine Problem

Hi Everyone, I am new here and need some advice. I have a 1994 Previa and noticed yesterday smoke and oil dripping out from where the muffler joins the engine. I was going to take it to my mechanic today, but when I went to turn the key over, I just heard a clunk coming from underneath the seat. It won't even turn over. Just clunks. Any ideas? Is the engine toast? Can someone give me some insight here?
