High idle on my 2.0 vvti petrol ts.

Engine was running fine then had new alternator fitted.. Car ran at low idle 450-650 for about 3 weeks them gradually got worse till it started cutting out when stationary..

So had a look on here for some advice..

Cleaned throttle body..

Cleaned maf sensor.

Cleaned lambha's.

New temp sensor.

Checked for vac leaks..

Now car is idling at 1250-1650 depending on how it feels...

Any more infomation would be helpful jus dont seem to be getting anywere fast..

Cheers

Edd

The air con causes some models to idle erratically. Any fault codes?

Did you take it out or do it on the car?Try pulling the terminals off the Battery for about half an hour and re-try it..The old 03 t25 avensis 1.8vvti I had revved the same after a clean though mine was a cable type one.it has something to do with the idle control on it.
