Hello one and all, I recently acquired a 2001 D4D Estate and really like it. I have never had one of these before and even SWMBO enjoys driving it.

Question :- I want to take a scooter with me on hols and thought about getting one of these rack things that slot on to the tow bar. Can't find the plate and even if I did I probably wouldn't understand it. What is the maximum weight I can put on said tow bar please. Many thanks. Kevin.

Maybe it depends more on the rack than the tow bar. Search Thule for the rack and maybe they'll tell you the supported weight?

How much weight is allowed on the tow bar also depends on the car. I don't know how much is allowed on a 2001 D4D, but according to this a 2009 D4D could handle 75 kg: https://www.google.no/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CB8QFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fcampingandcaravanningclub.co.uk%2FGetAsset.aspx%3Fid%3DfAA1ADkAMwAxAHwAfABUAHIAdQBlAHwAfAAwAHwA0&ei=av6QVYD7B4KjsAGJhJHoCA&usg=AFQjCNFwX-W1FEqZsZOiNYmX6EQPjkB8Ug&sig2=Hfx-sVUho1cMrRTiEMBA9Q&bvm=bv.96783405,d.bGg

Edit: My 2001 2.0 VVT-I can also handle 75 kg on the tow bar.
