Toyota Or Diesel Specialist In Birmingham Or Coventry?

Good Morning fellow Toyota owners.

Could someone recommend a Toyota or diesel specialist in the Midland pelase? Ideally in or close Birmingham & Coventry?

I have the following lights come on over the weekend.

CEL, VSC, and TRAC (Check Engine Light, Vehicle Stability Control, and Traction Control)

The car drives but with loss off power, up to 1500rpm & about 60mph.

I am taking it to a Toyota dealership for fault code reading today.

What I gather from the forums is that often this is a minor thing like

- bad or defective charcoal canister filter

- defective O2 or A/F sensor

- loose gas cap

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Many thanks,

Kris

First thing I would is clean the EGR.

this may help

http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/106241-how-to-clean-an-auris-t180-sr180-egr-valve-this-could-be-a-good-ide/

there are some videos on youtube too.

below is from another member.

'my 06 avensis had VSC & TCR off lights on when the EGR valve went - diagnosed & repaired by Toyota. The reason: As I understand it the VSC needs to trigger the EGR to reduce engine power if the car gets a bit loose. TCR triggers the brakes to arrest wheel spin.'

Hi,

thanks for replying.

I just called the Toyota garage, the guy said it is the catalytic converter and it needs replacing as they couldn't 'regenerate' it.

The egr was replaced twice on this can according to the service history, around 75k, and 110k.

The mileage in the car is about 146k now days.

cheers,

Kris
