2010 Auris 1.6 Gearbox

Bought my auris with 29000miles on it.now upto 35000....but it seems engaging first gear about 30percent of the timeis a problem.all the other gears are fine....hoping this isnt a big problem.car has a heatshield rattle too but ill get that sorted when i take it in :-)

Apart from that love the car.

Hope someone can shed a wee bit of light for me before i take it back to dealers.

Have you tried waiting a couple of seconds after pressing the clutch, before trying to engage first gear? Also did you press the clutch all the way? If the answer is yes and yes, then may be the clutch pedal needs adjusting.

Get check the hydraulic system if the clutch pedal gets firmer after pumping. There could be a leak or air in the system.

Thanks very much....ill give it a check! Haha....clutch pedal is nearly touching the road when i try!
