Odometer Incorrect Reading

Hi,

I have a 2004 avensis T4 (Manual), i noticed that my odometer was under reading the actual miles traveled. Last week i drove from one town to another which should be about 450 km i verified the distance between the two towns using google maps (accurate distance = 435km) however my trip counter only registered 215 km. odometer reading had also only increased by 215 km. i have not changed the size of the rims still using the original T4 17" rims. The speedometer works just fine.

Kindly advice on what could be the cause of this fault.
