Gas And Brake Pedals

I have noticed on my new 2015 Excel Yaris that the Brake pedal is about 25mm higher than the gas Pedal, this means that to Brake in an emergency with my foot on the gas pedal I have to lift my foot up before moving it over to the brake in order to engage, I did not notice this on my previous model, it may have been the same and I did not notice, any other 2015 owners have this discrepancy or are they at the same level, or is there a reason for this.

I think it's normal; Even my Mk1 has a similar pedal arrangement.
