Hi everyone jus want to introduce myself and kinda get some help as I've been told this is the place to be. I have a low milage 2003 vvti love it to bits. Just a couple of things need doing I have rust inside door which I'm currently sorting slowly and the wheels are in a bad way they are the 5 spoke originals . I bought a new backbox but when I fitted with gasket it's slightly blowing at the joint. Now then 2 questions I need help with one. I need a sealent for joint so which should I buy is there any better than others? And a friend has offered me his tsport 8 spokes 17s. My other question is will they fit streight on? He says there off a 2002 I'd be chuffed with any help

Hi, Dave..& welcome to T.O.C.

The 17" 8 spoke wheels from the T Sport will fit straight on..BUT..they're very prone to buckling, and you must notify your Ins. Co. of the modification.

Did you fit a new doughnut gasket with the replacement back box?.

Hi thanks for replying. Il Defiantly let insurer know. I shall go ahead with the wheels. Yes the doughnut shaped silver gasket thing inbeetween the joints? Yep done that and after I let the car run. But inbeetween I can still feel a tiny little bit of air. Is this normal? Cheers dave
